Our Project

São Miguel, with its unspoiled natural beauty, unique community, and remote setting amidst the Atlantic Ocean, provided an inspiring backdrop for the training The island’s lush volcanic landscapes, picturesque lakes, and dramatic coastlines, combined with its rich mythical stories, offered a captivating setting From the start, we were eager to immerse ourselves in the island’s stunning scenery and to hear the voices of the local community The island’s sense of remoteness added to the intrigue and depth of the experience.

The warm hospitality and enthusiasm of the Azorean community, particularly in Rabo de Peixe, added a meaningful layer to the training The locals’ openness and willingness to share their stories enriched the participants’ projects, making the experience even more memorable The final documentaries produced by the youth workers are a testament to the success of “Eyeland Captures” They beautifully capture the essence of São Miguel and the rich stories of its people The island’s beauty and the heartfelt interactions with its residents left a lasting impression on everyone involved, showcasing the profound impact of storytelling.
